[English]

Throughout history, humankind has sought to shape a desirable future; among the most urgent circumstances requiring management are unexpected disasters. The aim of this study is to present a crisis management model for pandemic viruses with an emphasis on health-oriented sports. Following an interpretive paradigm, a qualitative approach, and a grounded theory strategy, the study sought to uncover the model through systematic exploration. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using latent content analysis of transcribed interviews with 16 experts and specialists. The participants were selected through purposive and snowball sampling until theoretical saturation was reached.
Following initial and focused coding and subsequent aggregation, 23 main categories were ultimately identified, grouped under three axial codes: prevention before the crisis event, response during the crisis event, and rehabilitation after the crisis event. In the prevention stage, measures are implemented to reduce the detrimental effects of the crisis and to assess risks in order to bring the community’s vulnerability to an acceptable level. In the response stage, actions and services are undertaken following the onset of the crisis, aimed at saving lives, ensuring human well-being, and preventing the spread of damage. In the rehabilitation stage, measures are carried out to restore the physical, mental, psychological, and social conditions of those affected to their normal state.
