The main issue of the present study is to explain and analyze the political–hadith-based “future scenario of Iraq” from a futures studies perspective. This paper, using a library-based method and a descriptive–analytical approach with reference to credible sources, seeks to outline Iraq’s turbulent events, particularly the unrest in Sunni-majority regions and its negative impact on Iran’s security. The findings indicate that the projected scenario for Iraq envisions it as “unified” yet “weak.” Although the “government” is “controlled” by Shiites, it is internally fragmented and divided. Due to the “influence” of opposing factions and the weakness of the central government resulting from “discord and turmoil in Iraq”—especially unrest in “Shiite regions”—Sunni politicians and military actors in some “Sunni-majority areas” are likely to pursue the idea of partitioning Iraq, gaining control over regions such as Mosul and Tikrit. This scenario represents the enemy’s effort to establish a “Sunni region,” achieve Iraq’s partition, and cut off the Shiite Resistance Axis’s logistical connectivity to the Levant and its access to Palestine before the Emergence.
