[English]

Military spending by governments has been on the rise in recent years due to the rising crime rate as well as terrorist attacks in the Mina countries. Given that these expenditures are in the realm of government expenditures in countries to achieve a higher level of security for various purposes, including economic, this article examines the impact of crime and terrorism thresholds on military expenditures of selected countries from 2003 to 2016. For this purpose, in this research, the threshold panel regression method has been used. Considering the nonlinear test for the effect of crime, crime and terrorism activity variables on military expenditures as well as considering terrorism as a provincial variable, it was found that in this study only the terrorism variable can cause nonlinear behavior of other variables in influencing military expenditures. The impact of criminal activities on military spending in the countries under study is meaningless and has no effect on military spending.
